Here at SME Broker Services, we love apprentices! We have dedicated apprentices in the administration department, who manage the balance between career and education. We've taken time to ask Charlotte Harris & Trinity Graydon all about their experiences with apprenticeships.
How did you hear about the apprenticeship here at SME Broker Services?
Through a friend who was working here already. What is your field and what made you want to get into it? I decided to get into administration as I found the idea of working in an office interesting and my family were all doing that sort of thing, which helps with the coursework side of it when I am home. What is your favourite thing about being an apprentice? It gives you a lot of learning opportunities so I can progress my skills and knowledge and learn how to work more efficiently and more confidently in my role. It gives you practical hands on experience you don’t get in colleges, which I find much more engaging. What would you tell someone thinking about becoming an apprentice? I recommend it because you learn the necessary skills and development by actually DOING the job rather than sitting in a college doing coursework and written assignments. Plus the bonus of having the experience already to your name which a lot of my friends struggled with after college.
