Employee Showcase: Hannah Tunstall, Media Executive

August 6, 2018

At SME Broker Services, our employees are what make this company such a great place to work. We consider ourselves a tightly-knit family of people of all walks of life and we wanted to share what makes our employees special with an Employee Showcase feature series on our blog.

For this Employee Showcase, we're handing Media Executive and self-aware Playstation addict, Hannah Tunstall the controls.

How would you describe yourself?

I’m probably the quietest person in the office, but I’m quite happy, just busy focusing on work. Everyone in the office says I'm a wizard at photoshop too.

What does your role at SME Broker Services entail?

I’m a media executive, with a background in graphic design, so a lot of my job is social media orientated. I create posts for all our social media channels, design décor for the office and work on e-books. Recently I’ve been expanding on my video editing skills.

How did you first learn about the position at SME Broker Services, and how did you find the hiring process?

I learnt about the position from a friend who was in a Facebook page for jobs in Worcester and thought it was something I could

do. I had two interviews, and whilst I am a nervous person in general, I found them very comfortable to the point I looked forward to the second one. My friend won’t let me forget she found me the job though.

How has SME Broker Services helped you in your career development?

I have a lot more social media experience now as in previous positions, I only did graphic design work.

What has been your biggest accomplishment in both SME Broker Services and life in general?

At SME Broker Services, my biggest achievement was creating the rebranded logo for the company. It’s really satisfying walking into the office and being surrounded by this logo I created on various decor. Outside of work, my biggest accomplishment was

going to Australia on my own for a year. I wouldn’t have the design experience I have without my first industry job in Sydney which looks impressive back here in the UK.

What song makes you want to dance no matter where you are?

"I don't want it at all" - Kim Petras.

If you were stranded on an island, what three things would you take and why?

A bulk supply of sunscreen that will hopefully last, my pillow because I wouldn’t be able to sleep without it and my fiancé because he’s the funniest person I know and would make the situation better.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Gaming. As soon as I get home I’m on the PS4 or 3DS or something along those lines.

What are you working on at the moment?

I'm working on this blog since I am the person who creates them!

A quote or piece of advice you live by that you’d like to end on.

“Luck always changes” – Wise words from my Grandad.
